Sorry More Feathers!

Happy Sunday,

I know the peacock feathers were not universally popular last week however I have to get my  money's worth so here is another offering for you.

The feathers, three this time see I do listen! are die cut then inked using a versamark three colour inkpad.  These are shaded in all the colours using cut n dry foam and the ink has a opalescent finish which doesn't really come over on the picture.

The remainder of the card is simply put together with embossing, inking and die cutting.

I used simple white and a soft blue to make the oval layers using the new spellbinders oval dies and ovals large.  I layered these up with foam tape and placed several of the peacock feathers in between the layers.  The top sentiment, in the same ink, is from whimsey stamps.

The whole centrepiece, along with an overlarge bow (even I think this one is a little too big) is foam mounted onto an embossed and inked piece. This is then mounted onto a card blank with a pierced piece.

Not everyone's taste, but,

Enjoy...

  2. Hi John. THis card has to be in my favourite top ten likes of yours (Its rapidly turning into the top 20) Absolutely love it. The background with my favourite colour gems, the beautiful die, the feathers - I didn´t know you could buy a three coloured ink pad, and last of all the fantastic bow. All stunning Joh.

  11. Hi John,
Love it all, including the big bow, which ties all together beautifully.
I daren't really tell you this but yesterday I set to with determination and naughtily made a complete copy of your Saturday Special Californian background
box, minus the black (?) piping on the lid flap. Yes, it did keep the grey cells working nicely, thank you! Finished it at 9 last night. So, thank you, John, for a lovely Saturday.

  16. Hi John. Love this one, very pretty and I think the colouring on the feathers is gorgeous ( I can imagine it as cameras never do the sheen justice) Three's look better than two : ) Take care.

  17. What a wonderful change from the oodles of predictable, fussy, clone-cards out there. It's a very lovely breath of fresh air between CAS and Over The Top.
Don't ever sound apologetic for something you have created....if it's your best effort and you love it, own it with pride. Remember, everyone has an opinion but they are not One Size Fits All!
