Your Card Lesley...

Happy Monday, I hope you all had a fab weekend with lots of crafty time!

Today it's back to your card and the randomly selected commentor is Lesley Thomas.  Now I know that Lesley loved the card I made for Jen a couple of weeks back so I am hoping I have got this one right!

I have to admit that there is a nagging doubt in the back of my mind (possibly because of the black card)  so Lesley if this is not your style let me know and I will remake it in different colours.

I wanted to add pink ribbon and a bow as these were part of the main focus of Jens card, I also thought it must be pink so i started out OK by die cutting my new Sue Wilson background die in pink.  Why I then foam mounted this onto Black I have no idea, although I do thin k it looks striking!  Now Lesley was the prize winner on Sue's Blog and is a lady in waiting for her set of dies so hopefully this will give you an idea what to do when the dies arrive!

As usual Lesley if you email me your address on (anyone else please feel free to email me on this address for questions etc) I will post this card out to you,  Or If the black is a little stark I will remake it and post that out, can't say fairer!

  1. I'm sure Lesley will love the card John it is such a nice shade of pink and the black really sets it off. best wishes jackie

  2. I am not usually a pink person, John, but I really like this card. For me the black works. I think it becomes more grown up, not girly.

  3. Hola John
Stunning, just stunning matey. The black looks great to me.
Just missing a peel off. . . Hahaha!
    Enjoy, Lesley.
    Have a great day.

  4. Morning John,
Striking card, the black makes the whole card pop. Love the die too.

  5. What a lovely card John and I am sure that Lesley will love it when she gets it, I am still waiting to receive my card, but will let you know when it arrives. Hugs, Jen xx

  6. Hi Jen I'm a bit concerned as this should have reached you days ago as I work in a uk post office over here and it was sent Royal Mail! There were some of Wendy's hat pins in the box as a get well gift hope it wasn't stopped in customs! If not there by Friday ill send another

    John xx

  7. Hi John. Lovely card. Pink is never my first choice but I'm sure Leslie will love this card. I really like the touch of black, I agree with Janice, it makes the pink more grown up rather than little girly. I also love how the card can be used either way up (that would be good for me as I have an annoying habit of printing out my inserts the wrong way round!) I know I have said it before but I do love your perfect bows. Take care.

  8. Oh, John, you have cheered me up immensely today - thank you so much, and I love black and pink, so it will be lovely just as it is (I love that new trellis design).

I was a bit sad until I read this blog. My new (less than two weeks) Ebosser is faulty, and it's complicated to get it back as I bought it through a dealer. It has to go back to them, and thence to Crafters Companion. Oh well, I will be a Lady in Waiting again until I get it back. Thanks for cheering me up!

  9. Fab card and not a colour combo I would normally of thought of using but I think it looks great xx congrats to Lesley xx GailT xx

  10. Hi John. I love this card, the black works well with the Pink,it would make a baby card by changing the Black to another colour Lesley ,glad this had cheered you up.
I am not such a happy bunny,I am in pain since Sept.and it is getting to me.
Ah the Postman has brought 2 envelope ,one from my wonderful friend Jennifer and the second one my Prize from Sue.
Will see what I can do with it.

  11. Hi John,
congrats to Lesley on her win on both blogs.
Another really superb card and design. No wonder Lesley said it had cheered her up. It's elegant and beautifully stunning, and of course it's pink my fav colour too.
I too had a win on the snippets challenge, and am eagerly waiting for my stamp.
I do love this challenge as you use up lots of your scrap pieces of card and paper,
and anything else you have made and not used.
    Crafty regards. Jenny L.

  13. This is fabulous John, although I am not a lover of Pink the Black card really sets it off, looks very French! Very pretty, love how you have attached the ribbon.

  14. Hi John. Lucky Leslie, what a beautiful card.

  15. Hi John, just to let you know that Crafter's Companion stepped in and are arranging to have my ebosser collected direct from me, which will make things a lot easier - how good is that for customer service?

Ita, sorry you are in pain, it isn't funny. I take a raft of pain pills and goodness only knows what, but they keep me going, and enable me to craft, be it with card, or knitting or making quilts, so I keep busy, even if I'm not that mobile. If you want to chat, since we are both in Ireland, let John know your email addy, and he can forward it. (If you wouldn't mind John.) I am UK born, but have been here for 14 years. I'll never be 'local' but love living here.

  16. love this card ,and I don't think the black is at all dark with the black card ,it's perfect.Laura O

  17. Lucky lady, she will love it I think. xxxx
