I Resisted...

Happy Friday,

As I'm sure you all know Sue Wilson has launched her own range of dies now when I saw these I wanted the lot however Finances (and an imaginary wagging finger from OH) stopped me.  Therefore I showed unusual fortitude and only bought 2!  todays card is using the first die.

hopefully over the next few months I will add to my collection I really fancy the strriplets and foliage!  However this background seemed so versatile and had to be my first purchase.

The card is made by repeating the pattern however I measured the long edge and measured out so that the second cut made an exact square.  The thing I love is that the repeating pattern means you can extend this to any size on either side.

The flowers are a random flower die I have with, once again, another Crafters Companion sentiment.

Enjoy...

  1. Hi John,
a very elegant card today. I love that die, and you have made such a wonderful creation with it.. You always go the extra mile with you dies and extend them beautifully. I know what you mean about wanting them all, as soon as I saw them, my little voice in my crafty head was saying yes I want them all, but in reality you have wait a while, especially if your retired like me. lol.
    Have a wonderful day.

  2. Hi John. Beautiful elegant card. Sue's dies are all stunning aren't they. Sadly I can't afford any at the moment but can honestly say that I will be spending any spare cash on starting my collection of them because I want them all! Have a good weekend. Take care.

  3. Morning John,
Oh yes that wagging finger, know just what you mean. Being retired I have to watch the pennies so I have only got one set, the rest will have to come in dribs and drabs.
I love your card its stunning. Was it easy to extend the background die?
Love the colours you have used.

  4. Hi John. Like everyone else I´ve been drooling over these dies. I haven´t got any yet but I´m off to U´K at the end of next month which coincides with a Craft Show in my area so heres hoping they have some offers on. In any case I know I´ll be buying some of them.

    Have a good Friday.

  6. Sounds like us pensioners all have the same problem John!! I bought two sets from the Californian range - Decorative frames B and Beverley Hills having ummed and arhhed about which to get. Seems like this background needs to go on my list as your card is so nice. If you can get to see the dies before you buy do so as the decorative frames are larger than I would have liked but Joanna Sheen's site had no sizes on them when I bought them. Have a good day, best wishes Jackie

  7. I think we all want these dies, all of them, not just one. Hadn't thought about this one, but you have made a lovely card here. Like the colours too.
Did you see Sue Wilson now has stamps to match these dies and new a4 embossing folders?. Think we all will need a lottery win soon.

  8. Ooh, that background is to die for! I was the lucky winner of the big prise on Sue's blog the other day, so I am a 'lady in waiting' until my goodies arrive, but I still want all her dies.

  10. Hola John
Fab, fab, fab! I was eyeing this one up and umming and ahhhing but seeing what you've done, I may have to indulge.
I have only succumbed to the Embroidery Striplet so far (may be featured on tomorrows post) but there are a couple I may go for.
    Have a great weekend.

  11. Hi John (and everyone else who has drooled over Sue's dies and now her stamps and new folders!)
Until I saw your card, I had been more attracted to the strip lets and the California sets. But now... This is a fabulous card. You should send it to Sue - I bet she'd be keen to see it! It's my birthday soon and I'm thinking of asking for something crafty. Problem is, which to choose...
    Best wishes, Anne O
