In Memory...

Good Morning Everyone,

Firstly as you all know I am in England to replenish my craft stash however my mum and I are also here for personal reasons.  I apologise but today's post is not craft related and although I did not want to publish personal things on my blog I felt today that to post a creation would not feel right.

In the last few months my Blog and wonderful blog friends have become such a large part of my life I wanted to share this today, I apologise if this is not what you were expecting.

A year ago today we lost my beloved step father Les to Motor Neuron Disease I won't go into what a horrible, evil disease this is suffice to say that he fought a difficult battle with dignity and determination.

Les was a wonderful, kind loving individual whose quiet strength touched everyone who met him. He touched many lives especially mine and to me, he will always be my Dad.

In loving memory of Martin Leslie Atkinson 18/12/1952 to 18/08/2012, always in our hearts.

John xxx

  10. Hi John. I thought I'd share a lovely poem with you that a dear friend sent me when my lovely husband died.

Those we love don't fade away
They walk beside us every day
    Unseen, unheard but always near
Still loved still missed and very dear.

    I've never forgotten it.
much love to you and your mum.
    Love Val x

  16. Hi John my thoughts and prayers are with you and your Mum today, this poem helped me when I lost my Mom.
It will be the little things you remember
    The quiet moments,the smile,the laughter,
And although it may seem hard right now,
It will be the memories of these little things.
That help push away the pain
And bring the smile back again,
    With loving Memories of Les
    Hugs
    Ita

  19. A sad day for you and your Mum. Reading the date of his birth my first thoughts were of how young he was as this is the same year as my husband was born. Such a tragedy. My thoughts are with you both.
